| Description: | BEC Chemicals Pvt. Ltd., was founded by Late Mr. M. T. Shah in 1979 and is specialized in manufacturing of Active pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and Intermediates. The companys head office is based in Mumbai (close to the International Airport) and manufacturing unit at Roha (125 kms from Mumbai). The manufacturing unit has been approved by Indian and European Drug Authority and is EU-GMP, WHO-GMP and State GMP certified. The company is ISO 9001:2008, 14001:2004, 18000:2004, OHSAS certified by SGS-UK. The manufacturing unit is an 100% Export Oriented Unit and is recognized as STAR EXPORT house by DGFT (INDIA). The companys corporate policy primarily focuses on Product Quality, Customer Satisfaction, Patients Safety, Health & Safety Measures, Training, Team Work, Social Responsibilities, monitoring thrive for Continuous Improvements which has resulted into trust and confidence among our International customers. We are a R&D driven company wherein, our Research and Development centre (situated in Mumbai) has been recognized by the Department of Science and Technology as DSIR Approved. We undertake contract research and new process development work for generic APIs under confidentiality agreements. The R&D is well equipped to undertake projects from Lab scale to Kilo scale, with complete technical package as per CTD format. Manufacturing Facilities: The manufacturing facility is situated in Roha, which is around 125 Kms. from Mumbai and very well connected by Road, Rail and the nearest airport is Mumbai. BEC Chemicals has production capabilities to manufacture products of highest quality standard. Facility is divided into three independent production blocks comprising of technical area and powder processing area (Clean Room) and 1 Pilot Plant for chemical synthesis and powder processing. We plan to construct two additional multiple product blocks. The present manufacturing blocks are dedicated for each of the APIs which comply with the requirements of EU-GMP and USFDA norms as per ICH Q7 requirements. All three blocks were last inspected by EDQM in year 2012 and are EU-GMP certified. Purified water used in production process is de-mineralized and treated using UV lamps and 0.3 micron filters. The quality of water masses the drinking water specification as per WHO Norms and complies to Purified water in Bulk specification as per Ph. Eur and USP. At present there are 2 independent DM Water plants capable to supply 2.0 M3 / per hour. Powder handling blocks (Clean room area) are well connected with HVAC system which controls the temperature, particle count, provides adequate air pressure for pressure differential as per contained area working principles and number of air changes per hour as per design parameters. BEC can undertake reactions of various nature like: Alkylation, Friedal Craft, Nitration, Halogenation, Hoffmann, Oxidation, Grignard Reaction, Handling of Raney Nickel, Bromination, Diazo-coupling, Hydrolysis, Decarboxylation, Esterification, Reactions at an high temperatures, pressure and absolute vacuum. The present production capacity in BEC is around 300 MT/year handling of powder products and there is an adequate provision for further expansion. R & D: The company has a state of art R&D centre, located close to our Head Office in Mumbai which was set up in collaboration with IBI Chematur Ltd. in year 2010. Recently the R&D Centre has been recognized by Department of Science and Technology, INDIA as DSIR approved. We undertake contract research and new process development work. The R&D centre is ISO 9001:2008 certified and complies with the requirements of OHSAS and Good Laboratory practices. The centre is well equipped with sophisticated analytical instruments, process equipments and can undertake trials from milligrams to kilograms. To facilitate scaling up, the centre has a separate section for scaling the research work up to pilot scale in 50-100 ltrs of reaction volume. The R&D centres primary focus is to work on Organic Synthesis and developing bio-process technologies for pharmaceutical product lines. The R&D centre has been set up to facilitate requirements of our customers in terms of process development of new products and to optimize the process technology for an existing products manufactured at BEC Chemicals, in order to achieve higher quality standards and remain competitive. |
